FAQs

Giles Street | Leith Office

What do I work with?

These are the areas that I work with most often, but please note I'm open to whatever you bring.

Grief & Bereavement

Loss can often feel like an unravelling, and it can take many forms- from losing someone we love to homes, relationships, jobs, illness... With compassion, we begin to engage with these losses in a way that becomes meaningful again.

Identity & Transitions

Whether you’re facing a career change, a new stage in life, or a shift in self-identity, our confidence can often take the first hit. When the ground feels shaky, imposter syndrome, perfectionism and low self-worth can emerge in the uncertainty. The work will be to reconnect with your sense of self in a way that embraces these changes with confidence and clarity.

Family Conflict

Family dynamics are deeply rooted, and can often feel impossible to shift. By untangling these narratives, I support clients in making peace with their past and present relationships.

Relationship Issues

Relational difficulties often stem from early life and past relationships. It influences our sense of safety and connection with others by shaping our attachment styles. Through a collaborative, trusting relationship, we’ll work to heal these dynamics to foster more fulfilling  connections.

Trauma

Trauma can impact our relationships profoundly, altering how we experience trust, safety, and intimacy. With compassion and patience, we’ll create a secure base for healing, empowering you to rebuild trust in yourself and in relationships again.

Depression

The comedian Jim Carrey once said, “depression is your avatar telling you it's tired of being the character you're trying to play.” Depression leaves us empty and disconnected from ourselves and others, but it’s also a vessel telling us that something isn’t working anymore. As we stay with your experience, we’ll navigate these stuck and painful feelings to rediscover hope, and what matters now.

Anxiety

Anxiety can feel isolating and overwhelming. It might feel like something is “wrong” with you, especially when it disrupts your day-to-day and how you relate to others. Together, we’ll gently explore the roots of your anxiety and build tools for self-compassion, helping you feel more grounded and supported in your daily life.

Burnout

Burnout often arises when our needs for balance and fulfillment are overlooked, or even sacrificed. In our work, we’ll create space to reconnect with your values, boundaries, and energy, to restore a sense of purpose that is sustainable.

"We cannot change, we cannot move away from what we are, until we thoroughly accept what we are. Then change seems to come about almost unnoticed."

Carl Rogers, On Becoming a Person, 1961
